Technology & ESOL

The World Wide Web has opened a whole new world of opportunity to those who need or want to learn English, the technology continues developing, we're taking the studies from school to home. Using new technology (such as computers, Internet, smartboard, palm, notebooks, etc) is good for learning English.

Learners can communicate with others. They can exchange ideas in a discussion room or forum, They can record spoken messages, for example using voice thread listen to other people's messages.

Learning English Online Works. Online courses offer a better way for learning an exam, because you can talk with the other students on the Internet, have more discussions and interact at any time of the day.

The best online English courses give you the chance to practice writing and speaking English, You probably want to do it in a swift and convenient way.

Learning with technology is more fun. We also know about the Internet or websites which are very attractive for the young people who use online educational games, and listen to songs and get the lyrics, (for example yappr has videos with the lyrics). It is useful in our everyday life and officeswork, so that way I think technology can help people concentrate on new ideas of thoughts.

Learning using computers , doing a physical thing , like typing, helps us focus, using your hand to work makes you pay attention to what were we are doing on the computer. Additionally we can share information with people who are friends and sometimes even strangers. It can help you forget your troubles and unhappiness.

And the last thing is that technology is a way of learning as cheap as another way or often much cheaper.

My first day in Australia

My first day in Australia was exciting, but I was a little bit nervous. Here every thing was different to my country. I arrived in summer in December 2008.

I was really happy to see my aunt and my cousins, she left China when I was six, it was 13 years since I had last seen my uncle, he looked different to the way I remembered him. He had lost a lot of weight. I was delighted to meet my cousins. Before, in China, the younger one was all the time close to me. They drove us to my aunt's house in Connells Point, South Hurstville . It isn't a long way from the airport, my mum had a lot to talk with them, but I didn't, because I was thinking about my friends and my hometown. They talked about how to live in Australia and the weather.

After I was excited to see my cousins when they came home back from school, I thought my life would be changed. I was in a new country, I had to get on with it !

Today

Hello, I’m Moses. I come form China, but I’m now living in Sydney, Australia. I’m going to write about what happened today.
Today is 9th of September, 2009. It’s a special day for Rosa, because it is her birthday and many people think it’s special because it is 09.09.09! This is how I spent it.
In the morning, I woke up at 7:40am, and then I had a shower till 8 o’clock when I ate some bread and two eggs, which is healthy. I caught the 953 bus from Connells Point to Hurstville station, caught the train to Kogarah, and walked to St George TAFE.
But when I was waiting for the train, there were too many people and the train was late.
When I finished my morning class, I had a cup of chips and a coke in my launch time.
In the afternoon, when I finished the class, I went home to play pool till 5 o’clock. I go jogging every evening with my cousin, she wants to lose weight and I want to exercise; then in the evening, our family had a big dinner.
At 8:30pm, I watched a TV program called “Bite me with Dr. Mike Lahey” on the channel Net Ger Adventure and I also watched “Bondi rescue”.
At 10:30pm I had a shower till 11 o’clock and then I went to bed to sleep.
